This month the Charidy Team is proud to honor Peretz Schapiro, the Managing Director of our Australia office. Peretz was selected by our leadership because, for the second month in a row, because of his tireless Charidy campaigning! Peretz, who is from Sydney, Australia and has been with Charidy for just over two years, sat down with us to discuss his work and why he loves being part a part of the Charidy team!
Tell us about your role on the Charidy Team?
I head up Charidy’s Australian branch and manage all our campaigns on the continent.
Why did you decide to join Charidy?
I was somewhat familiar with Charidy’s incredibly successful approach to fundraising through donating to some overseas campaigns. Having always been involved with nonprofits and fundraising since I was very young – my parents run a nonprofit in Sydney – it just seemed natural to me to bring this fundraising model to Australia and help local charities raise more funds for their important work.
What’s the best part of working at Charidy?
Definitely being together with a client in their Operations Room as they reach their goal. The emotion that comes with celebrating months of hard work is truly an incredible feeling. It never gets old for me.
What do you think is the secret to Charidy’s success?
Our ability to adapt and tailor every campaign to the specific needs of our non profit partners.
What is the secret to your success as our Managing Director in Australia?
I really enjoy what I do. I think that my enthusiasm rubs off positively on others.
Describe Charidy in one word!
What was your employee of the month gift and what do you plan on doing with it?
Two tickets to Israel. I look forward to vacationing there with my wife later this year… and leaving the kids with the best grandparents kids could have!
